To make it in the world of mining you need to be dedicated and passionate, if you’re in it to make quick cash you’re going to find it tough going.

Each Wednesday, join Peter Finn, managing director of FACE Contracting, as he navigates the ups and downs of the industry with forward-thinking professionals from all walks of life. If you’re involved in the mining industry in anyway — whether you’re a lifer or a high school student looking to make the leap — Full Production is the perfect podcast for you.

On this week’s episode we sit down with young and up-and-coming star of the mining industry – Enrik Mundt. Enrik’s story is a classic one. A young bloke brought to Perth from a small village in Germany who turned his love of science and engineering into a fantastic career in mining. He’s only 23 and already he’s on the rise as a metallurgical engineer with Northern Star Resources. On the side, he’s a member of The Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy’s New Professionals’ Network committee, where he’s a passionate spokesman inspiring other young people to follow in his footsteps.

I chat to Enrik about what inspired him to get into mining, how he did it, and what excites him about the future of the industry. Enrik’s journey so far shows there really are great opportunities for young people in mining if only they are aware of them.
